Not automatically. HSE describes a competent Responsible Person as someone with sufficient authority, competence, skills, knowledge of the system and experience.
This course can contribute to foundational knowledge, but competence should reflect the person’s responsibilities, workplace experience and the complexity of the water systems being managed.
There is no universal HSE rule stating that every Legionella awareness certificate expires after exactly one year.
